Through unique challenges, kids will stretch their problem-solving muscles to create innovative solutions to simple robotics problems. Explore concepts from the basics of programming robots to more advanced sensors and inputs. Get ready to build, tinker, and explore as you unlock the limitless possibilities of robotics! Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Campers will train alongside Coach Emma Carter and current players from our nationally ranked Storm Volleyball Team, gaining hands‑on experience in both fundamental and advanced volleyball skills. Through dynamic drills, competitive play, and team‑building activities, participants will sharpen their technique and boost their confidence both on and off the court.

Step into the world of bright smiles and behind‑the‑scenes magic. In this one‑day immersive camp, students experience what it’s really like to be a dental assistant—from the first patient greeting to hands‑on clinical skills. Campers explore the differences between dental assisting and dental hygiene, practice infection control, take vital signs, and try out polishing, sealants, impressions, and instrumentation on manikins just like real trainees.

Along the way, they’ll learn what it takes to succeed in college and in the dental field, discover how to apply to the Dental Assisting program at Davidson‑Davie Community College, and even chat with current students about their journey. It’s an exciting, fast‑paced day designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and open the door to a future in dental care.

The robots are here! Take charge of your future by controlling robots to solve unique, creative challenges with your team. Program your robots in the Python coding language using visual and text-based coding tools. Explore the scientific method to observe, plan, test, and modify your robotic approach to problem-solving. No prior experience is required. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

From firefighters and EMTs to police officers and disaster relief teams, you’ll explore what it takes to protect and serve your community.

This camp isn’t just about learning—it’s about playing, experimenting, and imagining yourself as part of the next generation of heroes. You’ll get hands-on with cool activities, team challenges, and future-tech demos that show how courage + creativity + technology = unstoppable first responders.

 Campers will be traveling to different first responders locations such as The Sherriffs office, 911 call center, etc during this week of class. 

Monday, June 29 AM: CPR & First Aid Certification PM: Visit to Davidson County 911 for a facility tour and mock‑call experience

Tuesday, June 30 AM–3:00 PM: Tour of the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department (campers will learn about forensics, have a dog demo and will get to ask questions and learn the interworkings of our local sheriffs department)

3:00–4:45 PM: Simulation Room training at Davidson‑Davie Community College

Through hands‑on activities, interactive lessons, and close encounters with scaly and slimy creatures, students will learn about habitats, adaptations, and conservation. This camp is perfect for curious kids who want to discover the secrets of snakes, lizards, frogs, and turtles while building a deeper appreciation for wildlife.

Make your LEGOs come to life! Bring in your favorite action figures or LEGOs and create a short film with your friends. Whether you want to recreate a scene from Star Wars or design a world of your own, this class brings your dreams to the screen. Students will need to bring in LEGOs and/or action figures from home, but all other equipment is provided. Student-created films will be available on a password-protected website to share with friends and family. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.
