Sustainable Agriculture ( Grade 5th-12th Grade)

Sustainable Agriculture Summer Camp: Grow, Explore, and Get Your Hands Dirty! Get ready for a summer packed with adventure, discovery, and real‑life farm fun. At our Sustainable Agriculture Summer Camp, campers step right into the world of modern farming—learning by doing every single day. They’ll hop onto tractors for supervised driving experiences, meet cows and other local farm animals up close, and explore how agriculture shapes our community here in North Carolina.

Campers will dig into vegetable and flower production, plant seeds, tend garden beds, and see how food and flowers grow from the ground up. Along the way, they’ll learn the basics of plant science, discover the many uses of different crops, and get an inside look at small‑scale animal agriculture.

From soil to sunshine to the animals that support our farms, this camp turns agriculture into an exciting, hands‑on adventure. Campers leave with new skills, new confidence, and a whole new appreciation for the world that feeds us.

 

 ** This camp does include short fieldtrip of a local agriculture facility. 

Zoo & Aquarium Half Day (3rd-6th Grade)

Dive, swim, walk or crawl into the Zoo and Aquarium program at Davidson-Davie! Campers will get the full hands-on experience of the interworking of animal and aquatic care led by our Davidson-Davie animal care team! ! Campers will need to pack a lunch and  attend a field trip to a local facility on the last day of camp!

Minecraft Modders ( Ages 8-14)

Customize your own Minecraft world and mod the classic game in this one-of-a-kind class. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mods. Students will create a wide variety of new elements, gameplay mechanics, and world-generating mods to change the way you play Minecraft. Projects will be available on a password-protected Black Rocket website to share with friends and family. Projects from this class require the Java version of Minecraft. Tablet, phone, and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. Returning students can create more advanced projects that build on previous years. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

Pickleball (5th-10th Grade)

Campers will learn the fundamentals of this wildly popular sport—including serving, volleys, footwork, strategy, and court etiquette—through upbeat drills and engaging games that keep everyone moving.

Each day features a mix of instruction, practice matches, and team challenges designed to build confidence and improve coordination. Campers will develop strong sportsmanship, sharpen their reflexes, and discover just how exciting pickleball can be. Whether they’re brand new to the game or already obsessed, this camp offers a supportive environment where every player can grow.

 

Sewing Intermediate (5th-12th Grade)

From crafting sturdy tote bags and simple garments to experimenting with creative embellishments and decorative finishes, campers will stretch their abilities while discovering their own personal style. Every project threads together skill‑building and creativity, proving that sewing isn’t just handy — it’s sew impressive.

The Bug Lab ( 3rd-6th Grade)

The highlight of the week is a show‑stopping transformation project where campers repurpose an old prom or wedding dress into a one‑of‑a‑kind masterpiece. From cutting and draping to embellishing and styling, they’ll bring their vision to life—then debut it in a fabulous fashion show finale.

This camp blends creativity, confidence, and teamwork, giving every student the chance to shine both on and off the runway. It’s fashion, fun, and fearless self‑expression all week long.

Welding (9th-12th Grade)
